Automating the Beast Pen in Viking Rise
Trap Points regenerate whether you hunt or not, so an account you don't log into is capped and wasting them. This action spends them — but read the section on Quick Capture before you turn it loose, because it's the one action here that can spend a lot in one go.
This guide assumes you've completed Viking Rise bot setup.
Turning it on is not enough. Pick a capture quality and tick the colours to recycle. Capture quality starts on None, and without recycling the pen fills up and stops being able to capture at all.
What the action does
One pass runs Quick Capture for the quality you chose, then recycles the colours you ticked. Nothing is opened on screen — the Beast Pen's own page freezes the game while it's up, so the bot drives the pen from the city view instead.
Quick Capture cannot be interrupted
This is the single most important thing about this action.
Quick Capture is the game's own one-button hunt. One request keeps trapping, escalating the trap tier each time it misses, until it lands a mount of the quality you asked for. Only the mount that satisfies the request is kept; the misses are discarded by the game.
Once the bot fires a hunt, it runs until it succeeds or until your Trap Points can't buy the next tier. A hunt for a high quality on an account with a large balance can spend a great deal of it at once.
So the bot decides whether to start a hunt, not when to stop one. If that isn't the trade you want, aim at a lower quality or schedule fewer passes.
Setting it up

Capture quality is what the hunt is aimed at: Blue, Purple or Gold. None — the default — means no hunt runs at all.
Only those three are offered because the game's own Quick Capture selector offers no lower option. Listing Grey or Green would invent a mode the game doesn't have.
Recycle has one checkbox per colour — Grey, Green, Blue and Purple. Gold is deliberately absent: the game doesn't bulk-recycle gold mounts at all.
The recycle colours are independent of the capture target. They can overlap, and recycling the colour you hunt is valid if unusual — though it does mean the mount you just caught may be recycled.
Why recycling isn't optional
The pen holds a limited number of mounts, and a full pen cannot capture at all. If you never recycle, the action works for a while and then quietly stops being able to do anything.
Ticking the colours you don't want is what keeps it working across runs. It's the half of the setup people skip.
Troubleshooting
No hunt runs. Capture quality is on None, or you don't have the Trap Points for the first tier. Points regenerate continuously, so a later pass finds a balance.
It captured nothing but spent a lot. That's Quick Capture escalating through tiers and running out before it landed your quality. Lower the quality.
It stopped capturing entirely. The pen is full. Tick some recycle colours.
It says I have no Beast Pen. The bot checks whether the building is there before doing anything else — no opening, tapping or navigating — so an account without one is skipped cleanly and immediately, and nothing is spent. That's the common case on a farm and it costs a single read.
It tried anyway when I don't have one. If the check itself doesn't answer, the bot doesn't guess: "I couldn't look" isn't the same as "it isn't there", so it carries on and tries the pen as before.
