Recalling marches automatically in Viking Rise

This is the action you schedule for just before you go to bed, or just before a KvK window, or any other moment where you'd rather your troops were home than out on a tile.

This guide assumes you've completed Viking Rise bot setup.

This one works the moment you turn it on. Left blank it recalls every march, which is what most people want.

What the action does

One pass recalls the marches you have out. It needs no screen at all — it doesn't open the world map, tap a tile, or find a Recall button — so it works from anywhere the account happens to be, including from under a full-screen page.

Setting it up

The Recall Troops action settings, showing the march count field and the wait-until-home checkbox
A count you can leave blank, and a wait that is off on purpose.

How many marches to recall (blank = all) is a plain number. Leave it blank or set 0 and every march out is recalled, which is the common case.

It's a free number rather than a dropdown because how many march slots you have depends on your Chief's Hall, and a fixed list would offer counts some accounts can never reach.

Why "wait until they reach home" is off by default

A march can be an hour from home. With the box ticked, the account holds its worker slot for that whole time doing nothing but waiting — which gates every other action on that account behind it.

On a fleet with several workers that's harmless; other accounts keep running. On a one-worker setup it means the whole bot sits still. The wait is capped either way, so it can't run forever.

Leave it off unless you specifically need the troops home before the next action runs.

What is never recalled

Marches already on their way home are left alone — there's nothing to recall. Scouts are not touched. And anything the bot can't positively identify as recallable is left alone too: it would rather leave a march out than do something unexpected with it.

Troubleshooting

It says it saw marches but recalled nothing. They were all already coming home.

The recall didn't complete before the pass ended. The pass still counts as done. The recall was sent and the march walks home on its own — failing here would cost an emulator restart to fix something no restart can change.

I ticked wait and it gave up before the march landed. The wait is capped. The march still arrives.

I want one march back early and the rest later. Add two copies of the action with different counts and drag them into the order you want.

My troops came home wounded. Pair this with Heal Troops further down the action list.

Other actions sent marches straight back out. They will — recalling doesn't stop anything else. If you want the account to stay home, use schedules to gate the actions that send marches.
